Winter Wedding Photography at Asylum Chapel & MC Motors London

As we hurtle towards Christmas I’m mindful that I’d like to share some recent London winter wedding photography but I’m also trying to get everything together for a wedding tomorrow.

I’m heading off to Cripps Barn in the Cotswolds but thought I’d share a little preview of a wedding I photographed in London at the beginning of December.

The Challenge of London Winter Wedding Photography

I love the challenge of winter wedding photography in the UK. Dark days, uncertain weather, coats clutched tight and hats held on with the other hand, a sun that seems to never fully appear and then disappear just after lunch – it’s a joy!

But all this makes the look of the day unique to the time and place of the celebration – there is nothing generic about a British winter wedding. You have to really work with the day and rinse every ounce of advantage from the camera you are using – slower shutter speeds, wider apertures and looking for every gift of light the winter gives you.

2 Amazing Venues – Asylum Chapel & MC Motors

Here’s a quick peek at James & Lucy’s London wedding. It took place at the Asylum Chapel in Peckham then across at MC Motors in Dalston. Two amazing venues helped by some brilliant styling from The Bijou Bride.

Click on the slideshow below to get a taster of a brilliant day – it had everything. Great friends, great fun, great laughter and amazing dancing and wedding bingo! Who doesn’t want to win a slow cooker at a wedding!

I’m sure I’ll post a full blog of the day when I get time in the new year but in the meantime here’s a quick slideshow of the day – enjoy!
