Birtsmorton Court Wedding – Country House Exclusive Use Venue
I love to photograph a Birtsmorton Court wedding for multiple reasons – the beautiful wedding venue, the fabulous couples it attracts and the brilliant and attentive staff that do everything to make a wedding at Birtsmorton Court go with a bang.
Certainly it’s a beautiful venue in the Worcestershire countryside, that almost goes without saying. Amazing views of the Malvern Hills from all around the extensive 350 acres of grounds, a beautiful Grade 1 listed building ‘The Court’ that is surrounded by a moat(!), The White Garden that’s beautifully kept and perfect for outdoor wedding ceremonies….
For Photographers A Birtsmorton Court Wedding is Fabulous
I like that from a wedding photography point of view everything is just there. Accommodation, fabulous grounds, a church or outdoor ceremony space, great entertaining space and all within easy walking distance – especially in wedding shoes.
It really makes for a stress free wedding day – which perfectly suits the couples that I work with, who invariably are wanting a relaxed day that flows. In talking to couples before the wedding day their one fear is that they are going to miss it! Being taken away from their guests for hours of photos, missing everything they’ve planned for the wedding reception… That’s never been my approach to wedding photography. The best memories are the photographs of everyone enjoying themselves, hugging family and friends, getting slowly tipsy throughout the day and the sheer joy of it all!
Another plus for me is that they are ‘dog friendly’ too – I love dogs at weddings! I remember talking the two gorgeous dachshunds that belonged to the bride and groom for walk during one wedding reception at Birtsmorton Court.

“Thanks Andrew, the pictures are absolutely stunning!
You’ve captured some unique and treasured moments.” – Claire

It’s a Great Location for a wedding venue
The location is great too. It’s in the heart of the West Midlands and the picturesque counties of Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and Herefordshire but still only two hours from London.
I photograph weddings all across the UK but it’s become one of my favourite wedding venues as it’s so close for me to travel home after a full day’s wedding photography – which means I get to walk my dogs the next morning (albeit with aching legs from the wedding day).
Their description on the website puts it perfectly:
“Birtsmorton Court is an exclusive-use wedding venue nestled at the foot of the rolling Malvern Hills in the Worcestershire countryside. The Court is still fully moated and boasts a unique architecture dating back to 1241. There are many spots to enjoy around the grounds, including The Terrace, a veranda overlooking the waters of the moat, and The White Garden surrounded by topiary and filled with white roses, foxgloves and wisteria. It’s not all about the gardens, this place is full of history too. There’s even a mention of Birtsmorton Court in the Doomsday Book.
With the borders of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire all close by, Birtsmorton Court is within easy reach of Ledbury, Malvern, Tewkesbury and The Cotswolds, as well as Cheltenham, Gloucester, Hereford, Worcester, Oxford, Birmingham and Bristol. As one of the easiest to reach wedding venues in the heart of the West Midlands, we’re only a couple of hours from London too, so if you are looking to head out of The City for a wedding in the countryside, you’ll find we are the perfect location. “

Candid Creative Wedding Photography
Birtsmorton Court weddings really suit the way that I photograph weddings too.
I’m a very ‘hands off’ wedding photographer that allows the day to flow so that I can capture candid and spontaneous moments throughout the day. One of the most important things to me is that couples are able to have maximum time with their family and friends enjoying the wedding day without having to stand around for photos. That way I’m able to tell the unique story of the wedding as it happens and everyone is able to be relaxed and enjoy the day – which means everyone looks natural and unselfconcious making the photography even better!
There is often an element of formal photograph but at a Birtsmorton Court wedding the interior of the courtyard of The Court is always so beautifully lit that we can step aside from the reception for just 10 minutes and the formals are done! Giving more time for chatting, canapé eating and drinks on The Terrace.
“You have done the most amazing job –
everything we set out to find in our photos you have delivered above and beyond!!” – Cara
