AMP Studios Wedding Photography – Andrew+Laura

In April is was in London to photograph the wedding of Andrew & Laura. It was back to one familiar and one new venue – the fabulous Asylum Chapel in Peckham and AMP Studios just round the corner (so close in fact that the wedding party walked).

Check out some more Asylum Chapel weddings here and here.

Wedding Photography throughout the UK

It’s not often I go to the same venues – photographing across the UK and Europe the odds of couples getting married in the same places are slim but it’s always nice to see venues again and try to make new and interesting photographs.

There was a little bit of deja vu when I arrived to photograph Laura’s preparations as she’d booked the same Air BnB I’d been to just before Christmas! But that’s where the familiarity ended – places are just places and it’s how people populate them that makes the photos I want to take. Photography is never about taking photographs ‘OF’ people but ‘ABOUT’ people – that’s what’s so interesting about every wedding.

It being my first visit I’m happy to report that AMP Studios is a fabulous venue for a wedding. It sits on the Old Kent Road which is great for fans of Monopoly. Filling two railway arches with an ample courtyard outside – especially useful for cooling down afters LOTS of dancing!

Beatles Tribute and Rowena Alice!

I’m not going to type a run through of the wedding day (that would be both boring to you and me) as you can see it in the photos but I will add a couple of points that made the day special – Andrew is a MASSIVE Beatles fan so a tribute band in the evening was essential PLUS as Laura’s sister is the brilliant Indie DJ Rowena Alice (@rowena.alice) the evening party was going to be special.

Here are a few of the wedding photographs from Laura and Andrew’s AMP Studios Wedding.
