Here’s a little preview of Faye & Sim’s wedding photography at FiveFour Studios in Salford, Manchester.

The wedding at FiveFour Studios was at a new venue to me – now this isn’t unusual, I photograph weddings in new places every weekend. I work with couples not because I’m attached to a venue but because they like my relaxed, candid approach to wedding photography – it suits the type of wedding day they want.

Individual and Unique Couples

It was the same with Faye and Sim – they are an individual couple and wanted the wedding day they were planning to reflect this. Hence their choice of venue.

FiveFour Studios in Salford in Manchester. A quirky, unique, individual place for a wedding. When couples are searching for a venue to have their marriage celebration I’m not sure a photography studio comes high on the list. But it should.

If we look specifically at FiveFour Studios for a wedding you have large spaces over several floors, great light, a brilliant bar(!) and great access for catering and bands. Right in the middle of Manchester – stick that in your pipe and smoke it Midland Hotel!

Especially when you have great styling and event management on the day from Inner City Weddings!

I’ve been photographing weddings for ten years and I’ve encountered most places to have a wedding but until this year I’d never photographed a wedding in a photography studio – then TWO come along. I photographed Kasia and Jana’s wedding at The Apiary Studios in Hackney earlier in the year (take a peek).

A Fusion of Cultures

But back to the wedding at hand. Faye is Scottish and Sim Malaysian so we had a great fusion of cultures – which was reflected in the day itself. Bagpipes, a Bahai Ceremony, an afternoon tea, music from both cultures. It really is a handy thing when members of your close family are in a brilliant Ceilidh band!
