Birtsmorton Court Wedding Photography in Worcestershire

At the beginning of October I joined Marissa and Nick to take their Birtsmorton Court wedding photography – a lovely place to photograph a marriage.

It’s the first time I’d photographed a couple getting married at Birtsmorton Court but we’d met up a little time before at the venue to talk through the day and have a look around – accompanied by their gorgeous dachshunds.

It was a bit of a rainy day as they walked me through where everything was to happen on the day which proved an ideal rehearsal for the day itself.

In the UK in Autumn I pretty much expect that the weather might affect what are the ‘ideal’ plans for the day. Being a candid documentary wedding photographer I will photograph everything as it happens and without orchestrating the day, so the weather doesn’t affect the way I work or how I’m going to photograph. Often it can enhance the day.

On Marisa and Nick’s wedding day at Birtsmorton Court we started with torrential downpours but as the Church is in the grounds it was simply a case of everyone grabbing umbrellas and dashing inside. As the service went on the sun came out, the skies cleared and the rest of the day was an idyllic British Autumn – full of warm rusty colours.

Telling the story….

There was a Japanese theme that ran through the wedding (as Marissa and Nick had met on a Japanese language course) with origami cranes, beautifully woven wedding dress material and even ikebana flower displays – which is reflected as a texture that runs through their wedding photography.
